Palos Verdes Estates is an affluent oceanfront town near Los Angeles. It is known for having wonderful schools and a more laidback “surfer” atmosphere than L.A., itself. However, those who love the arts, film and theatre will be equally happy to be near Hollywood and Beverly Hills.
Palos Verdes borders Palos Verdes Estates and is beautiful and quiet, as well. In this town, you will find hiking trails, parks, surf spots and much, much more. If you are looking for a way to enjoy the SoCal weather then you will have no trouble filling your time. The South Coast Botanic Garden is an 87 acre facility with 150,000 landscape plants. It is also an event venue making it an ideal spot for the schmoozing and partying that this part of the world is known for.
The area around this town, in general, is frequented by outdoorsy types who love to run, hike, ride horses, fish, surf, swim and enjoy the beautiful sunny weather. Trump National Golf Club with the courses lies along the oceanfront trails of Palos Verdes. It is arguably one of the best places in the world to spend time outdoors. The sun and sand paired with the affluence and the chance of a celebrity sighting make this area attractive to both residents and travelers.
While the towns in this area are generally quieter and less busy than the city, the nearby town of Rolling Hills is exceptionally pastoral in that there are no street lights and very little commerce. In this small, lovely residential area, there is a single, gated community. Residents of Rolling Hills do their shopping, dining and attend school or work in other nearby towns such as Ranchos Palos Verdes and Palos Verdes Estates. These suburbs are where the beauty and majesty of Southern California really shines through. You can enjoy beautiful weather, breathtaking views and a “beach bum” atmosphere that you simply won’t experience in Hollywood.
